Project Description

As a strategy for solving the mobilization problems and with a perspective of prioritizing the mass public transport system, and to discourage individual modes of transport, an integrated approach focusing on offering high quality public transport system through improved bus ways, better buses and passenger information systems was envisaged at a city level. Accordingly, a city-specific corporation was created to involve private sector players in bus operations, providing higher quality, better uptime, security and reliability. For initial period of two years the Project Management Consultancy services were provide.

Services Provided

• • The team was involved in project management consultancy comprising the following:
  • Preparation of DPR for selection of bus routes and number of buses required
  • Assistance in procurement of buses and availing incentives under State Government scheme for enhancing public transportation
  • Development of PPP model for operations and undertaking financial analysis for the same
  • Bid process management for selection of private sector companies for bus operations, bus queue shelters, and Integrated Transportation Management System (including vehicle tracking, passenger information system, and fare collection system)
  • Project management support for two years
